Greene County residents will have an opportunity to receive free groceries on Wednesday, October 28, as several community organizations partner to host a food distribution event in Eutaw.
The distribution will begin at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of Carver Middle School and continue until all available food has been distributed.
The event is being organized by Legacy Medical Training Center and Legacy Community Resource & Training Network in partnership with the West Alabama Food Bank and other community organizations.
Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis through a drive-thru system. Participants are asked to remain inside their vehicles while volunteers load groceries into their cars.
No registration is required, and the event is open to everyone.
The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to address food insecurity and provide additional support to families throughout Greene County and surrounding communities.
Other participating organizations include United Purposes Inc., The Life Center Organization, Greene County PARA, MAPS at the University of Alabama and ACE CDL Professional Driver Training Academy.
Eric Gaines of RE101 Real Estate is also among the event’s sponsors.
Organizers are seeking volunteers to assist with distributing food, directing traffic and helping with event setup and cleanup. Those interested in volunteering should arrive at Carver Middle School by 8 a.m.
Residents planning to attend are encouraged to arrive early, as food supplies are limited.
