The Tuscaloosa County School System (TCSS) is encouraging community members to consider joining its transportation team as the district prepares to launch a new Bus Driver Training Class beginning June 2.
With immediate openings available, TCSS officials say the program is designed to provide all the training necessary for individuals to become certified school bus drivers. Training opportunities are also available for bus aides.
According to the Transportation Department, the positions offer flexible schedules that work well for people seeking part-time employment or those balancing other jobs and responsibilities. Drivers and aides are also eligible for health insurance and retirement benefits, along with opportunities to earn additional hours when available.
School leaders emphasized the important role transportation staff play in supporting students every day by ensuring safe and dependable rides to and from school.
Community members interested in learning more about the training class or available positions can contact the TCSS Transportation Department at (205) 342-2636 or visit the district’s online information page.
District officials are encouraging residents to share the opportunity with friends, family members, and anyone who would make a positive impact on local students.
