High school seniors across Alabama will have the opportunity to apply to participating colleges and universities at no cost during the state’s annual Free College Application Week, scheduled for Feb. 23–27.
The initiative allows eligible seniors to submit college applications without paying the usual application fees, helping remove financial barriers that may prevent students from pursuing higher education. School counselors and educators statewide typically use the week to assist students with completing applications, essays, and submission requirements.
State education leaders encourage all graduating seniors—especially first-generation and underserved students—to take advantage of the limited-time opportunity. Officials say the program plays a key role in boosting college access and encouraging more Alabama students to continue their education after high school.
Students interested in participating should check with their school counselors for a list of participating institutions and specific application instructions.
