Aliceville Mayor Terrence Windham is inviting pastors, preachers, and Christian believers across the community to unite in prayer this weekend in response to growing concerns about troubling incidents coming to light.
According to the mayor’s announcement, the community prayer gathering will take place Saturday at 3 p.m. in the City Hall parking lot. Participants will begin with a collective prayer for protection before marching through the city in what organizers describe as a spiritual demonstration of faith.
The planned march will include prayer, worship, and proclamations of God’s authority over the city and its residents. Mayor Windham emphasized that the event aims to bring the community together during a time he described as spiritually challenging.
Organizers noted that individuals who cannot physically participate in the march are still encouraged to attend and remain at City Hall to pray and worship until the group returns.
In the days leading up to the event, Mayor Windham is also asking willing community members to join in fasting and prayer in preparation for Saturday’s gathering.
Community members seeking to participate are encouraged to arrive at City Hall shortly before the 3 p.m. start time.
