The city of Livingston will honor the life, legacy, and lasting impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a special commemoration program scheduled for Sunday, January 18, 2026.
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Program will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Livingston Community Center, bringing together community members, faith leaders, and local residents for an afternoon of reflection, remembrance, and inspiration.
The event will feature Reverend C. Wayne Davis, pastor of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, as the guest speaker. Reverend Davis is expected to share a message centered on Dr. King’s enduring vision of justice, unity, service, and equality, while encouraging continued commitment to the principles of peace and community uplift.
Organizers say the program aims to celebrate Dr. King’s contributions to the Civil Rights Movement while reminding attendees of the responsibility to carry his legacy forward through action, compassion, and civic engagement.
The commemoration is open to the public, and residents from Livingston and surrounding areas are encouraged to attend and take part in honoring one of the most influential leaders in American history.
