High school students across West Alabama are invited to attend the Carl B. Montgomery College Recruitment & Mentorship Breakfast, an annual event focused on college access, academic guidance, and mentorship opportunities.
The breakfast will take place Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at the Dr. W.C. & Kay Jones Education Building, located at 1118 22nd Avenue in Tuscaloosa.
Hosted by the Men of Bailey Tabernacle CME Church, the event is designed to connect students with college recruiters, academic professionals, and community mentors who can help guide them through the college preparation and decision-making process.
The featured speaker for the breakfast will be Cassius Lanier, who currently serves on the Tuscaloosa City Council. Lanier is expected to speak on the importance of education, mentorship, and community involvement in helping students reach their academic and professional goals.
In addition to the keynote address, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in sessions led by college recruiters and representatives, as well as academic professionals and area mentors, offering insights on college admissions, career pathways, and personal development.
Organizers say the event is open to all high school students, and attendance is strongly encouraged for those considering college or seeking guidance on their next steps after graduation.
The Carl B. Montgomery College Recruitment & Mentorship Breakfast continues to serve as a community-focused initiative aimed at empowering students through education, encouragement, and access to valuable resources.
