The City of Tuscaloosa is giving residents an opportunity to turn parking tickets into Christmas gifts for children in need through a holiday initiative benefiting Toys for Tots.
Through November 30, residents with eligible $25 city overtime parking tickets can satisfy their fines by donating toys instead of paying the usual monetary penalty.
Under the program, a toy valued at $15 or more can satisfy one $25 parking ticket. Residents with two eligible $25 tickets can donate toys valued at $30 or more to satisfy both fines.
The initiative offers residents an alternative way to resolve parking violations while supporting children and families during the holiday season.
Residents interested in participating should bring their toy donations to Tuscaloosa Municipal Court, located at 2122 Gary Fitts Street.
The city requests that participants provide a purchase receipt or leave the price tag attached to each toy to verify its value.
The program applies specifically to $25 city overtime parking tickets and does not extend to all parking violations or traffic citations.
Donations will be accepted through Monday, November 30, 2026.
The initiative provides an opportunity for residents to give back to the community while helping ensure more children receive gifts this Christmas.
For additional information about eligibility and donation requirements, residents can contact Tuscaloosa 311.
