The holiday season will return to the heart of Livingston this December as Sumter County prepares to celebrate the 9th Annual Christmas on the Square.
The community celebration is scheduled for Sunday, December 6, 2026, in Downtown Livingston, with festivities beginning at 1 p.m.
Christmas on the Square has become a holiday tradition for families throughout Sumter County, bringing residents and visitors together for an afternoon filled with Christmas cheer. This year’s event is expected to feature decorated Christmas trees, vendors, live music, a visit from Santa Claus and more holiday activities.
Organizers are encouraging families to bring the kids, invite friends and relatives, and spend the day celebrating the season in downtown Livingston.
Over the past nine years, Christmas on the Square has also become a place where community memories are made. Ahead of this year’s celebration, residents are being encouraged to share their favorite photographs and memories from previous Christmas on the Square events.
For many local families, the event offers an opportunity to enjoy the holidays close to home while reconnecting with neighbors and supporting the community.
With the downtown square decorated for Christmas and families gathering from across the area, organizers hope the 2026 celebration will continue the tradition of showcasing the community spirit that makes Christmastime in Sumter County special.
Residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for December 6 at 1 p.m. Additional details about the 9th Annual Christmas on the Square will be announced as the event approaches.
