Kentuck Art Center is inviting the community to celebrate art, music and local creativity with two free, family-friendly events taking place this week in Northport.
The festivities begin with Art Night on Thursday, Aug. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kentuck Art Center. Visitors can explore the museum gallery exhibition, In the Spirit, featuring works by John “Jahni” Moore, who will also give an artist talk at 6:30 p.m. The Teer Gallery will showcase Aspiring Artists, an exhibition highlighting artwork created by students in the Aspiring Artists Summer Camp.
The evening will also feature live music, pop-up vendors and the annual Red Dog Potters Ice Cream Bowl Fundraiser, where attendees can make a $10 donation to receive a handcrafted ceramic bowl and enjoy a serving of ice cream while supporting local artists.
The celebration continues with First Friday on Friday, Aug. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kentuck at Queen City. Guests can view Selected Works by Athlone Clarke, with an artist talk scheduled for 6:30 p.m., browse unique finds at Kentuck’s Deep End and shop from local pop-up vendors. The event will also include live music and a community art project titled “Here Comes Clip Clop.”
Both events are free and open to the public, offering opportunities for residents and visitors of all ages to experience local art, meet artists and enjoy an evening in Northport’s vibrant arts community.
