Families in Sumter County and surrounding areas will have an opportunity to gain valuable parenting resources and support at an upcoming free seminar designed specifically for new and expecting parents.
The “Confident Beginnings” seminar is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10 a.m., and will take place at 1453 East 4th Street in York, Alabama.
The event will focus on essential topics such as prenatal care, nutrition, and early childhood development, aiming to equip parents with the knowledge and confidence needed to give their children a strong start in life. Organizers say the seminar is also part of a broader effort to help reduce the mortality rate among young children by promoting education and early support systems.
In addition to the educational component, attendees will receive free baby supplies, providing practical assistance to families preparing for a new arrival.
The featured speaker, Yolanda Fredrickson, is a certified childbirth educator who has been supporting families since 2017. Known for her empowering approach, Fredrickson focuses on replacing fear with education and helping parents build a strong support system from the very beginning.
Organizers encourage attendees to pre-register to reserve a seat by calling or texting 731-343-3925.
The event is sponsored by IVVETTS non-profit in partnership with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Community members are invited to attend, learn, and connect in what promises to be a supportive and informative environment for growing families.
