Tuscaloosa families are getting a renewed call for support as Tuscaloosa’s One Place, a longtime family resource center, continues its mission to uplift communities through its “Strengthening Families” campaign.
The campaign encourages community members to donate and get involved in efforts aimed at helping parents and children thrive. According to the organization, every contribution helps provide essential tools, education, and counseling services that directly impact families across West Alabama.
Tuscaloosa’s One Place, often referred to as TOP, has served the region since 1999, focusing on improving the lives of families through a wide range of programs and partnerships. The organization was originally formed to address issues related to poverty, education, and family stability, and has since grown to offer more than 20 programs serving thousands of individuals each year.
TOP’s work centers on helping families become more self-sufficient while also preventing child abuse and neglect. Services include parenting education, workforce development, school-based support, and youth intervention programs.
Leaders say the “Strengthening Families” campaign is a direct investment in the future of the community. Donations support programs that promote healthy child development, emotional well-being, and stronger family connections—key factors in building a stable and thriving region.
Beyond financial contributions, the organization also encourages residents to volunteer, donate essential items like diapers and school supplies, and participate in community events.
Located at 810 27th Avenue in Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa’s One Place continues to serve as a central hub for families seeking support, resources, and opportunity.
As the campaign gains momentum, organizers say even small contributions can make a big difference in strengthening families and shaping a brighter future for West Alabama. To donate, click here.
