Students interested in pursuing a future in healthcare will soon have a unique opportunity to explore the field firsthand through an upcoming summer program at Shelton State Community College.
Registration is now open for the Healthcare Exploration Camp, scheduled for June 22 through June 25 at Shelton State’s Martin Campus. The camp will run daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is open to students entering grades 9 through 12 who are curious about careers in healthcare.
Hosted by Shelton State Community College Workforce Development in partnership with SSCC Health Services, the four-day camp is designed to give students a hands-on introduction to the healthcare industry. Participants will engage in basic health training, interact with local healthcare employers, and gain exposure to real-world medical tools and technology.
One of the highlights of the program is the opportunity for students to earn a CPR certification—an important credential for anyone considering a career in health services.
Beyond training, the camp aims to make learning engaging and interactive, allowing students to explore different healthcare pathways while building skills and confidence in a supportive environment.
The cost to attend is $200 per student. Space may be limited, and early registration is encouraged.
