Skilled Trades of West Alabama is now accepting applications from young adults interested in pursuing a career in carpentry and securing full-time employment in the skilled trades industry.
The program is open to individuals between the ages of 18 and 24 and features a 14-week carpentry training course designed to provide hands-on, practical instruction. Classes will be held in the evenings on Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning Feb. 25.
Participants will receive training in a range of essential construction skills, including door and window repair and replacement, drywall installation and finishing, trim and flooring installation, as well as basic electrical and plumbing work.
The program requires a $400 tuition fee. Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will be eligible for a 400-hour paid internship with West Alabama Contractors, offering real-world experience and a direct pathway into the workforce.
