JR Crickets has officially expanded into Alabama with the opening of a new location in Tuscaloosa, marking the restaurant’s first presence in the state.
The new eatery is backed by former Alabama Crimson Tide basketball standout JaMychal Green, who has invested in bringing the popular wings-and-tenders concept to the college community where his athletic career began. The restaurant is located on The Strip, a high-traffic area near the University of Alabama campus.
Founded in Atlanta in 1982, JR Crickets has built a national following for its signature chicken wings—most notably the widely known “Lemon Pepper Wet” flavor. In addition to wings, the menu features classic sports-bar offerings such as burgers, Philly cheesesteaks, ribs, seafood, and chicken tenders. The brand has since expanded to multiple locations and offers franchising opportunities.
The Tuscaloosa restaurant is open seven days a week and is located at 1130 University Blvd., Suite B-6, in Tuscaloosa.
