As of 4:50p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, a fiber optic company has damaged the main water line on HWY 11/80 in York. This incident may impact businesses and homes in the area. At this moment there is no time frame as to when the water line will be repaired.
According to WTOK News, The Mayor of York stated in January that they have applied for funding to help the ongoing water issues through the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, but they have not received any funds as of yet.
