The Pickens County Board of Education has unanimously selected Jeff Campbell as superintendent of the Pickens County School System, marking a new chapter for the district.
Campbell officially took over the position on Aug. 18, 2026, following a unanimous vote during the Board of Education’s regular Tuesday evening meeting.
Campbell brings more than 20 years of experience in public education, including work as both an educator and school administrator. School officials said his familiarity with the district and his longstanding ties to Pickens County will be valuable as he steps into the leadership role.
Board President Annie Jackson said the board is looking forward to working with Campbell as the school system continues to move forward.
“The Board is excited to work alongside Mr. Campbell as we continue moving Pickens County Schools forward,” Jackson said. “We look forward to supporting his leadership and working together to provide the best possible educational opportunities for the students of Pickens County.”
The board also thanked district employees, families and community members for their continued support.
Campbell’s appointment comes as Pickens County Schools begins what board members described as its next chapter, with district leaders emphasizing continued collaboration and educational opportunities for local students.
