Chipotle Mexican Grill is celebrating the start of the new school year with a nationwide Back-to-School Buy One, Get One free promotion on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026.
The promotion will be available at participating Chipotle restaurants, including locations in Tuscaloosa. Customers can take advantage of the deal from 3 p.m. until closing by wearing school spirit apparel or accessories. Eligible gear can represent a middle school, high school or college and may include T-shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys and hats.
Customers who meet the requirement can buy one entrée and receive a second entrée for free. The offer is available for in-restaurant orders only, with a limit of five free entrées per transaction.
Two Tuscaloosa Chipotle locations are expected to participate. The location at 1203 University Blvd., near the University of Alabama campus, is open from 10:45 a.m. to 11 p.m. Because of its proximity to campus, customers may encounter larger crowds after the promotion begins at 3 p.m.
The Midtown Village location at 1800 McFarland Blvd. E. is also open from 10:45 a.m. to 11 p.m. and provides another option for families and students in the surrounding Tuscaloosa community.
With students returning to classrooms and college campuses, the promotion gives local customers a chance to show their school pride while receiving a free meal.
Those planning to participate should remember the key requirement: wear school spirit gear, visit a participating Chipotle after 3 p.m. and purchase an entrée to receive a second entrée free.
