The Tony Dixon Foundation is expanding its annual Back-to-School Bookbag Giveaway this year, adding Gordo Elementary School to its growing list of participating schools. The foundation will continue its partnerships with Aliceville Elementary School and Reform Elementary School to provide free clear bookbags and school supplies to local students ahead of the new school year.
The initiative is designed to help ensure every student begins the school year prepared and confident by providing essential school supplies during each school’s registration period. All giveaways are free and available while supplies last.
“We believe every child deserves the opportunity to start the school year with the tools they need to succeed,” the Tony Dixon Foundation said. “By expanding this initiative, we’re continuing our commitment to investing in students, families, and the future of Pickens County.”
The foundation also recognized the Tombigbee RC&D Council for its continued partnership and support in making the annual giveaway possible.

Aliceville Elementary School
July 27: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. July 28-29: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Reform Elementary School
July 23-24: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. July 27: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Gordo Elementary School
July 22: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. July 23: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
