Residents looking to strengthen their financial future will have an opportunity to gain practical money management skills at the upcoming Wise Money Financial Management Workshop, hosted by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
Scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the workshop will be held at the Sumter County Industrial Board Conference Room, located at 106 Hospital Drive in Livingston.
The educational program is designed to help participants build healthier financial habits and develop strategies for long-term financial success. Organizers say the workshop will focus on three key areas: creating and maintaining a budget, building savings, and reducing personal debt.
Participants will learn how to create a spending plan that aligns with their financial goals, identify ways to save for future needs, and develop strategies for paying down debt and achieving greater financial freedom.
The workshop’s theme, “Smart Today. Brighter Tomorrow.”, emphasizes the importance of making informed financial decisions now to create a more secure future. Organizers hope attendees will leave with practical tools and increased confidence in managing their personal finances.
Registration is required for the event. Those interested in attending can RSVP through the Sumter County Extension Office by calling 205-652-9501.
