Farmers, gardeners, and home growers from Hale County and surrounding areas are invited to attend a special meet-and-greet event with Margaret Ann Snow, Home and Commercial Horticulture Agent with Alabama Extension, on Wednesday, July 1.
The event will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Hale County Extension Office, located at 701 Hall Street in Greensboro. Organizers say the gathering will provide an opportunity for residents to meet Snow, ask questions, and learn more about the horticultural resources and services available through Alabama Extension.
Snow serves a 10-county region that includes Choctaw, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Wilcox counties. Her work focuses on supporting both commercial producers and home gardeners with topics such as crop production, landscaping, pest management, soil health, specialty crops, and other horticultural concerns.
Extension officials encourage attendees to share their ideas, concerns, and suggestions while learning how Alabama Extension programs can help local growers and landowners succeed.
The event is designed as a come-and-go gathering, allowing participants to stop by at any time during the hour. Organizers welcome everyone, from commercial farmers and specialty crop producers to backyard gardeners and gardening enthusiasts. Residents from any of the counties within Snow’s service area are encouraged to attend, with a special invitation extended to those living in Hale County.
Those attending are encouraged to bring questions about their crops, gardens, landscapes, or other horticultural interests.
