The Tuscaloosa County Branch of the NAACP is inviting residents across West Alabama to take part in its upcoming Juneteenth Parade and Community Celebration scheduled for Friday, June 20 in Tuscaloosa.
Organizers are encouraging churches, schools, businesses, bands, community organizations, vendors, and car enthusiasts to participate in the annual event, which celebrates freedom, culture, and community unity.
The Juneteenth Parade will begin with lineup at 9 a.m. at Westlawn Middle School, located at 1715 Martin Luther King Blvd. in Tuscaloosa. The parade is set to officially begin at 10 a.m.
Following the parade, the community celebration will continue at Palmore Park, located at 3701 Fosters Ferry Road, from noon until 4 p.m.
The event will feature local vendors, food trucks, entertainment, and a new addition for 2026 — a Juneteenth Car Show.
According to organizers, participation in the parade is free and open to groups looking to showcase their organization, celebrate Black heritage, and inspire the community.
Registration is currently open for parade participants, vendors, and car show entries.
The Tuscaloosa County Branch of the NAACP says the celebration aims to honor the past while celebrating the present and building for the future through community engagement and cultural pride.
