Residents across West Alabama will have a new way to celebrate spring as the City of Tuscaloosa prepares to host its first-ever Strawberry Fest at the Tuscaloosa River Market.
Set for Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., the free community event will spotlight locally grown strawberries, family-friendly activities, and live entertainment along the Black Warrior River.
Fresh Flavors from Local Farms
The festival will feature fresh strawberries sourced directly from Chilton County, widely known for producing some of Alabama’s best berries. Local vendors—including Hale Farms, Penton Farms, and JJ’s Produce—will offer fresh fruit alongside a variety of strawberry-themed goods.
Visitors can expect everything from baked treats and jams to homemade specialty items, giving attendees a chance to support local growers and small businesses while enjoying peak strawberry season.
Live Music and Festive Fun
In addition to the food offerings, Strawberry Fest will include live music throughout the afternoon and evening. Stephanie Woodruff is scheduled to perform from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., followed by Charles Erwin Wilson from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A special strawberry mascot is also expected to make appearances, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Family-Friendly Activities
The event is designed with families in mind, featuring a range of activities for children. Free face painting will be provided by Paint Misbehavin’, and a mobile petting zoo from Faith and Feathers Squeals on Wheels will give kids the chance to interact with animals up close.
