D’Quinton Robertson works on Lehman Farms examining the fields, among other things, while currently attending college studying agricultural business. There he has the opportunity to learn first hand from Aaron Lehman the ins-and-outs of farming by a conventional and certified organic corn, oats and alfalfa operation. Living with his uncle, Robertson raises horses, chickens and a sheep. He participates in rodeo competitions and is involved with racing horses. Farmers interested in participating in the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) in 2026 are encouraged to complete required certification training, which is now available through both online and in-person options.
Participants may complete the training at their convenience online by visiting the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries (ADAI) website and selecting the FMNP Farmer Training link.

In addition, four face-to-face training sessions will be offered across the state. Upon completion of the training and all sections of the Farmers Agreement, growers must obtain a notarized 2026 Growers Permit from their local County Extension Office.
The Sumter County Extension Office will host an in-person SFMNP training on January 14, 2026, at 106 Hospital Drive in Livingston. The meeting time will be announced at a later date.
