Elected in 2020 as Aliceville’s youngest and first Black male mayor, Mayor Terrence Windham has focused on youth engagement, infrastructure, the economy, and so much more in the thriving city of Aliceville.
Since being in office, Mayor Windham has successfully recruited a Health Care Clinic to Aliceville, secured millions of dollars in grant funds for streets, sidewalks, and other infrastructure improvements, developed and improved summer internships for area students, brought an ambulance to the city, provided consistent and transparent communication via social media with city updated and activities, and so much more.
What comes to mind when you think of unfinished business and going forward together?
We’ve done a lot of work in our town infrastructure wise. Paving the city streets, fixing the drainage issues, added more business, and now working on a downtown revitalization project that is coming.
What is your long-term vision for Aliceville’s development?
Having a community that stays within a livable wage, having more jobs, 20-30 hours, helping more people buy homes, better schools, better engagement in the community, and more culture mingling.
Mayor Terrence Windham says there is still more work to be done and have plans on continuing forward together.
